Anglican Poet, John S A Watts, published by various online journals, is currently attempting an exciting work, “Sweetlight: A Poetry Bible”, the stories of the Bible creatively interpreted through traditional poetry to offer the stories of Sacred Scripture afresh for a modern audience.

The task is a monumental one: the entire Bible transformed into a work of poetry, utilising traditional poetic techniques, i.e. predominantly rhyme and meter.

The poems in the work are typically epyllion-length, that is a short epic, typically around 1k-2k lines long.

Thus far the first volume is complete, including Cain & Abel, Joseph, The Passion, Esther, Ruth, Judith, and Tobit although at this time not published— please check back for an update, or sign up to my mailing list for updates.
